At Barron Swim School, our mission will always be to “Build Skills for Life.” As we swim out of 2024 with much pride, gratitude, and much to celebrate, we are grateful for everyone who has been a part of the Barron Swim Family and those who continue to trust us as their children build skills they will have for a lifetime. As we dive into the new year, we want to look back at a few of our favorite moments from 2024.
Quick Stats
This year, we had a huge impact on our community and the safety of our students. We held 135,372 swimming lessons, 1,930 Swim Abilities lessons, 67,686 teaching hours, and 2 Safety Weeks! We had six in-house swim meets where we decorated 459 swimmers with medals and certificates to congratulate them on their hard work and race to the finish. 592 swimmers participated in our week-long Accelerated programs to improve their skills and ring the level-up bell! We couldn’t be more proud of our swimmers’ hard work and dedication.
Bigger & Stronger Leadership Team!
This past year, our leadership gained some valuable people! Erin Stopke (Assistant Aquatics Director, O’Fallon), Amber Poeggemoeller (Office Director, O’Fallon), Nikole Sabourin (Assistant Aquatics Director, SOCO), Sarah Harris (Assistant Aquatics Director, SOCO), and Nikk Harr (People & Culture Director). We are excited to see the growth as our leadership team brings us into the new year.
Champions Against Cancer
We collectively raised money for our organization, Champions Against Cancer, throughout the year. This year, we raised an astounding $21,200 between swim schools and Barron Gymnastics, along with 100+ gifts donated.
Hope Floats Scholarship
Along with Champions Against Cancer, the Hope Floats Foundation is near our hearts. This foundation gives scholarships to underprivileged children who can’t afford swim lessons, and this year, we had the opportunity to provide 30 scholarships. At Barron Swim School, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn to swim and become safer in and around water. Also, we held the first annual Polar Bear Plunge near our O’Fallon location. We raised over $15,000 for Hope Floats and our partner, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Select Properties’ charity Sunshine Kids.
Expanding into Ballwin
We are thrilled that Barron Swim School is expanding into its newest location in Ballwin! This state-of-the-art facility will open in the fall of 2025, allowing us to bring our “Building Skills for Life” mission to even more families in the community. Stay tuned for updates as we prepare to make a splash in Ballwin!
Cheers to an amazing 2024, and here’s to continuing to build skills for life in 2025!
